From a distance, you have been a part of me for a while now. It has been almost a year now since you became a part of my life and despite the large space you have taken up in my day-to-day life, I still do not know much about you.

Very little is written about you and you seem reluctant to share your secrets. Whatever I have come to know about you I have had to search for a long time. It has been difficult and I have wondered if there are better ways I could spend my time, if my interest is there at all.

When I first saw you, you were not what I expected. I saw a desert where I expected abundant wildlife. I saw thin ice, leads and countless melt ponds where I expected solid pack ice. It took time, but I finally started to see you for what you are and I can finally say that you have awakened my curiosity. So I will stay with you a while and I hope you will stay a while longer.
